Visiting Auburn University and need a place to stay? Consider The Hotel at Auburn University if you enjoy convenience and southern hospitality.

When my daughter registered for the Auburn University college tour over the summer, they sent us hotel recommendations as part of the welcome packet of information.

Out of the two hotels they suggested, we decided to stay at The Hotel at Auburn University which is just across the street from the campus.

Curious if this is a good hotel for your trip? Check out my full review below:

Parking

The hotel offers both valet and self-parking options.

We opted to self-park which was an easy process in the parking deck right next to the hotel. Parking was an additional $20 per night during our stay.

I was able to park out front of the hotel for checking in. I dropped off our luggage with my girls who waited in the lobby while I parked the car before returning to help them get up to our room.

As a mom traveling alone with her kids for this trip, I felt extremely safe with the entire process.

Who Will Love this Hotel

You should consider staying at The Hotel at Auburn University if:

  1. You’re Visiting the College for a Tour: It is located so conveniently right across the street from campus. You can easily walk over to the campus tour starting point.
  2. You’ve Never Been to Auburn: This gorgeous hotel has so much school spirit and represents the area quite well.
  3. You Want to Splurge on Your Hotel Budget: There are plenty of budget-friendly hotel options in Auburn but if you’re looking to upgrade this portion of your trip this is an excellent choice.

Room Review

The hotel room features two beds.

My daughters and I stayed together in a 2 queen beds room on the Executive floor since we were campus tour guests of Auburn University.

This top floor offers private key access and has a fantastic beverage and pantry station near the elevator with complimentary snacks and goodies for your stay. This was a much-welcomed feature when we arrived after our long 7-hour trip.

The room features we appreciated most included:

  • 55-in Smart TV
  • Microwave
  • Refrigerator
  • Kohler Shower Fixtures
  • Extremely Comfortable Mattresses

What We Loved

Hands-down, our very favorite part of the hotel was the snack and beverage pantry available on the Executive floor.

The options change throughout the day and we enjoyed both a bedtime snack and a quick grab-and-go breakfast selection before our campus tour in the morning.

The special beverage and snacks station.

I appreciated the location of the hotel in reference to the Auburn campus. After a long day on the road, I chose to stay in our room and relax and felt 100% comfortable letting my girls head down and across the street to walk around the campus in the early evening.

I could see them if I peeked out the window but everything about our stay felt very safe.

Checking in and out went perfectly smooth. The parking experience went very well. I left the car in one spot for the duration of our stay and because of the location of the hotel, we visited Auburn by foot.

We also all slept amazingly well on the comfy mattresses.

What Could Have Gone Better

When you stay on the Executive Floor, you receive two complimentary breakfasts at Ariccia Cucina Italian on the lobby level of the hotel.

We were downstairs about an hour before our Auburn college tour was scheduled to begin and tried to pop in for breakfast.

It took more than 10 minutes to get our table on a not-so-busy morning and then we sat for another 10 minutes before a server came by to ask for our drink order. At this point, we were anxious about being late and decided to head back upstairs to the pantry station for some grab-and-go things to tide us over until lunch.

I recommend leaving yourself a large cushion of time if you plan to dine on site ahead of a scheduled tour.

Would We Stay Again?

If my daughter chooses to attend Auburn University, we would absolutely choose The Hotel at Auburn University for a special visit.

I can imagine it is in high demand during Parents’ Weekend, Graduation, and on football game weekends, so you’ll want to plan far in advance.
