For as long as I have known my husband, he has been passionately in love with enjoying a relaxing restaurant breakfast on the weekends. Even when we were just dating, he loved to go to the pancake place on Saturday mornings.

While we lived in the midwest, we had our favorite spots. Leaving behind the one near our last home was one of the hardest parts of our move. We still haven’t found the perfect breakfast place in Charlotte, despite our best efforts.

So you can imagine the joy and the glee my husband felt when we found the absolute perfect breakfast restaurant during our recent trip to North Myrtle Beach.

What made it so perfect?

  • the gentle, relaxing ambiance
  • the delicious, fresh ingredients
  • a unique menu filled with creative dishes that are still recognizable (and not too fancy)
  • kid-friendly dishes to keep our whole family happy

I know that breakfast was his favorite meal from the entire trip but I suspect it might be among one of his most favorite memories from the entire weekend.

If you get the chance to stop in, we all enthusiastically recommend Blueberry’s Grill in North Myrtle Beach.

Our review of Blueberry’s Grill in North Myrtle Beach:

You can find Blueberry’s Grill right in the Barefoot Landing shopping and dining area of North Myrtle Beach. It is conveniently located near the Crescent Shores beachfront condo resort where we were staying for the visit.

Their address and hours:

Blueberry’s Grill
7931 N Kings Hwy #140
Myrtle Beach, SC 29572
(843) 945-4588

Hours: 7 am – 3 pm

What’s on the menu?

Breakfast is served all day and they’ve got all the sweet and savory dishes breakfast dreams are made of: pancakes, waffles, omelets, various flavors of benedicts, and traditional southern classics like chicken and waffles.

Their signature dish is the Blueberry Muffin and Eggs which comes with two eggs, a grilled blueberry muffin that made my husband swoon, Granny Smith apple slices and your choice of bacon or sausage.

What is the restaurant like?

This simple but lovely restaurant feels like a modern Southern farm stand. A picture-perfect white trellis with overflowing flower boxes welcome you to an outdoor patio with fireplace. Inside, you’ll find sleek steel tables mixed with farmhouse style lighting fixtures and simple black and white farmhouse art.

We were there on a busy weekend morning and even with a full restaurant, it wasn’t overly loud in the way some breakfast places can be. We could easily hear our family conversation over the table.

The dishes we recommend:

French Beignets:

Deep fried beignets coated in powdered sugar are served with a triple berry compote. They make an amazing starter for the table.

Aidell’s Chicken Benedict:

I ordered this dish for my breakfast and it may be my most-favorite eggs benedict I’ve ever had. It comes with two poached eggs, Aidell’s chicken & apple sausage, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions & hollandaise sauce and a side of fruit.

The Grilled Blueberry Muffin:

I seriously thought my husband was going to fall off his stool. He reported that the muffin was one of his favorites and that the grilled presentation made it especially wonderful to slather a little butter over it.

The Chocolate Chips Waffle:

Both girls ordered this. I was too busy inhaling my benedict to notice but when I looked up their waffles were gone. They ordered the chocolate syrup on the side and ended up opting to not put it on the waffle. We dunked a leftover beignet in it instead. YUM.

And I’ll leave you with this photo of my cute husband happily holding his coffee at the restaurant. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already plotting for us to return to Myrtle Beach just for another chance at that blueberry muffin.
