The old mill sits next to a waterfall.

All those fun things to do in Pigeon Forge can really start to add up after a few days. But rest assured, there's plenty of fun to be had that is completely free!

Remember, the whole point of a family vacation is to spend quality time with your kids away from the hustle bustle of everyday life.

So, when you need to save a little room in the vacation budget, try one of these totally free Pigeon Forge ideas:

    1. Play Cornhole at Margaritaville

A dad and daughter are tossing beanbags as part of a cornhole game at The Island in Pigeon Forge.

Grab your keys and your kids and hop in the car over to The Island in Pigeon Forge. This FREE outdoor destination has lots of fun, free things to do with your family.

You can play a round of corn hole right outside the Margaritaville restaurant. This classic outdoor game is perfect for competitive kids:

    2. Rock and Watch the Dancing Fountains

The fountain is all colorful at night.

While you're at The Island, head over to the rocking chairs near the water fountains. Sit back and relax while watching the dancing fountains. Kids love to run around that area or rock along right next to you.

    3. Window Shop at The Old Mill

While you could make a point to eat at their restaurant, strolling around The Old Mill and window shopping is completely free! The mill is set on a scenic waterfall the kids will love to see.

    4. Meet the Horses at Dolly Parton's Stampede

One of our favorite things to do with the kids was visit the Dolly Parton Dinner Show one evening. While it isn't free on it's own, it did provide both entertainment and dinner at the same time.

Thankfully, you can actually visit Dolly's horses for FREE even without tickets to her dinner show! Little horse lovers will be thrilled.
